As a company that is passionate about the environment, Simply Wood have teamed up with woodland charity Moor Trees, and planted 65 tree samplings in the forest of Dean Burn, in Buckfastleigh, Devon, as part of a new scheme to become a carbon neutral company.

In keeping with the green scheme, they also continue to promote sustainability by sourcing all the timber from sustainable forests.

The Moor Trees charity, established in 1999, works in and around Devon and Cornwall creating and restoring a number of native woodlands by calculating the amount of carbon emissions companies omit each year. Trees are then planted to reduce the impact this has on the environment.

Managing Director of Simply Wood, Mark Trewin, says: "We are a company passionate about wood and concerned about the environment and we feel the Moor Trees charity is a worthy project to get involved with. It took our green team of 12 the best part of the day to plant the trees needed to make Simply Wood carbon neutral for the year but a lot of fun was had by all."

Simply Wood likes to encourage its customers to adopt an environmentally friendly approach and has launched a new initiative to donate money to the Moor Trees charity each time a handmade kitchen is sold. A tree will then be planted in that customers honour and a certificate with the grid reference of where the tree is planted will be received.

In another bid to give something back to the environment, from May Simply Wood are also offering waste disposal units to customers when installing a new kitchen as they can save up to 20% of household waste.
